Under Pressure

September 17, 20242 min read

Listen to this blog post here:

If you have horses, chances are you've got a horse trailer and a pretty decent pickup truck to pull it.

Before I met my wife, I knew nothing about any of these things.

She's a trainer and riding instructor, so we have horses, a 6-horse trailer, and a pretty honkin' truck with a 7.3 liter diesel engine in it.

Evidently, those 7.3 diesels are highly prized and coveted in the horse-hauling community. Who knew?!

One thing I learned pretty quickly about these diesels: the fuel injectors are VERY different from cars.

A car fuel injector is about the diameter and length of your pinky.

The truck diesel fuel injector is about the size of your forearm. That's a slight exaggeration, but not by much.

They're machined out of a block of steel and weigh about 3 to 5 lbs EACH!!

You can see there's a sliiiiiiight difference between the two.

The diesel injector is so much bigger because it takes immense pressure - supplied by the oil pump - to spray the diesel fuel effectively.

We're talking about 3000 psi. And there's a separate "high pressure oil pump" just for this operation.

High pressure oil...means you need more oil...like 17 quarters worth.

Yes, an oil change on this beast is over 4 gallons. Your car probably takes 1 to 1.25 gallons at the most.

And...if the truck gets low on oil...it'll come to a dead stop.

When there's not enough oil to run the injectors, you're not going anywhere.

Ultimately, you could say, pressure is a good thing!

Except when it is in your business and it becomes a weight...an albatross around your neck.

Everyday pressures, FOMO pressures, financial pressures, marketing pressures, staffing pressures (Oh! You're a solopreneur?! Well, it's ALL on you.)

You want the good pressure that moves you forward...not the bad pressure that crushes you.

There isn't enough hours in a week to get it all done.

For your video marketing, podcast, and blogging we got you covered.

We'll sit down to a Zoom call, and about 90 minutes later you'll be done...and I'll send you all the social media you need for 4 weeks.

Does that take off some of the pressure?

Reply "Info" and let's jump on a 10 minute call to make sure we're on the same page.

Let's get more good pressure in your life.

To YOUR success,

Nic "7.3 Dually" Natarella
